THIS IS YOUR BIRTH STORY.
It is HARD. It is real. It is RAW. It is candid and oh so beautiful.
hello mama.
i'm randi nicole.
Our birth photos taken by my best friend:
@jessiemars.creates
Your birth space is so sacred + vulnerable.
So it only makes sense that if you are inviting me into yours, that I invite you into mine.
I delivered our rainbow baby earth side in June of 2021.
^ After 30 hours of labor, here is my hubby and I as we embraced our son for the first time.

My labor felt like quite the journey. My body struggled to dilate but I was trusting in God's plan. I prayed for an unmedicated birth but I knew
I had to remain open + flexible with my desired birth plan. I ended up receiving an epidural after 24 hours into labor + being 8 cm dilated.
It was the hardest decision I had to make because I had made it this far without it.
BUT ultimately, I had to choose what was best for me. I was able to regain energy to deliver our boy and my goodness it was breathtaking .
I have heard the Mothers before me say " Once you push your baby out, it's almost as if all your pain is a distant memory."
And they were right. It was this rush of relief, joy, empowerment of I JUST DID THAT! , and this shift in my heart
that this little peanut crying on my chest, covered in vernix ,was ours. Our sweet little miracle was here.

Although I have photographed births before my own, going through such an incredible experience myself,
grew my love and desire to want to document more of other mamas stories. I have become obsessed with birth and postpartum.....
So starting 2022 I am excited to embark on the journey to work towards my doula certification to offer even more support within the birth space.

It is HARD. It is real. It is RAW. It is candid and oh so beautiful.

Even in a room of what seems like chaos, I remain calm and grounded to provide a safe space for my mamas.
I want to capture each woman's strength through every surge, how their support team embraces them and the moment they experience
holding their little nugget for the first time.

1. WILL WE MEET BEFORE THE BIRTH?I would love to meet prior to delivery day. Your birth space is a very intimate, personal experience, so whatever you need to feel comfortable with my presence I'm happy to do. I am also able to meet via video chat and connect through email or text as often as you may need.
-
2. WHEN SHOULD I BOOK YOU?As soon as possible! In order to give each of my families the attention they deserve, I highly encourage you book as soon as you know your due date. I take a limited amount of births per year. So to ensure I am available for your family from 38 weeks gestation until the birth day.
-
3. HOW MANY BIRTHS HAVE YOU ATTENDED?I have attended 3 births as well as experiencing my own.
-
4. WHEN WILL YOU SHOW UP?Each labor is so unique and varies from mama to mama. My goal is to be in contact with you as soon as contractions begin to get closer together (5-6 minutes apart) or your water breaks. Ideally, I would love to be present as soon as active labor begins ( 7-8cm ) But birth can be FAR from ideal, so we do our best to gauge the right time for me to join you based on a variety of indicators. Usually it's best to go by how close together your contractions are, and how difficult they are for you to manage. Other factors that will weight in the decision are dilation, effacement, and station (if known).

5. WHAT IF YOU MISS OUR BIRTH?Let's be honest, sometimes babies can be unpredictable and have a mind of their own with their arrival time. Missed births can happen, but they're rare. In the case of illness or emergency of my own, I do have a couple of backup photographers that I will do my best to send in my place. If I miss the birth because your labor was faster than anticipated, I will still come to your place of birth to document as much of your story possible. If there are too many missed moments to build a full gallery, I am happy to offer a Fresh 48 or Lifestyle in home session once you arrive home.

6. WHAT IF I HAVE A CESAREAN?Cesarean births are just as beautiful! I will absolutely accompany you into the OR as you meet your baby for the first time. I do know that some doctors and hospitals do have policies that don't allow photographers in the OR. So I would ask you health care provider during your pregnancy what their policies are in the case you do have a cesarean birth. Even if your doctor has a policy against allowing photographers into the OR, I can come to the hospital with you at check-in, document your pre-op, give my camera to your support person to use during the birth, and photograph post-delivery moments as usual. The documentation of your story is just as, if not more, important as any mama delivering vaginally!

7. IS THERE A DEPOSIT OR PAYMENT PLAN?I require a $500 non refundable deposit to secure your birth dates. I am also more than happy to arrange a payment plan that works for your family.
